I have purchased several boxes; they were moist and delicious and the right
size. I thought thee icing was buttery and could detect the sea salt in the
chocolate icing. My only complaint is that they are seasonal and not available
year round.

my brother works for a vending company and some store bought ones were pretty impressive, although only cream filled, not Vanilla pudding or custard, also, only some crushed vanilla wafers throughout the cup cake, all and all very good, but could have been done better.;;;;

Planning on experimenting with it through the winter to have something for a family reunion next summer…

I like your wafer at the bottom idea and crushed crushed throughout, although, crushed dried bananas throughout, might work well too, the baking process, along with the batter, might soften them back up…

and like you, I don’t care for meringue, even a good one. so rethinking topping, leaning more towards a banana icing or possibly a banana flavored glaze

I just went to pinkabella today, and agree with you–it was over the top sweet. I was actually searching alone to see if any of her recipes were posted somewhere. I was impressed with the consistency of her buttercream frostings. But, I seriously thought some of these cakes were just from a box. They were so sweet
